As these people are clearly breaking the bylaws and to do so is possibly a criminal /asb offence why dont you just 999 it?

I've spoken to the police a good 5 or 6 times regarding this - I have umpteen 'incident' numbers - I've witnessed them only once moving on this individual - who, quite frankly isn't being a nuisance or causing any trouble - other than breaking the bylaw - they come late at night, and leave relatively early in the day (by either being moved on, or by their own accord) - the/re not noisy or messy and seem to keep themselves to themselves - it clearly is a violation, but I'm trying to keep it in perspective.

I've got more of an issue with the young lady from number 10 who I've seen letting her pooch poop on the lawns and not clean it up.

1 week off 1 month of our new itinerant occupiers in their conspicuous blue tent and the plot thickens.

... the Tent returned overnight but the person/people have opted for a new spot; a change is better than a rest after all.

So, called 101 today and had 2 PCSO's pop down to see what was going on... having consulted the officers, it appears the tent is empty! - no sign of the occupants, and according the officers "no sharps" - which is a relief.

I've actually witnessed the occupants at the tent and up near Preston Street - looking rather worse for wear... and arguing quite rambunctiously with one another - a young chap and a lady... arguing with such finesse & flair that a great deal of passers by to cross the street.

So despite being quiet and unobtrusive whilst occupying their haven - they clearly have the potential to have ASB.

If anyone else is reading this, can the be aware please and do contact the authorities with their concerns, I'm sure the more we complain, the more likely action will be taken.

We have a NEW tent today... It's a stealth tent - totally black... I can still see it though and have called 101...

This seems to be coming a regular occurrence...

I think we need to lobby for a new sign for the gates, which includes no camping & no dogs

Hmmm... so i've just been called by the police regarding the persistant offender in the blue tent - and it appears the advice to call the Police isn't appropriate.

Because the land is Council owned and operated, the council needs to be informed of any offenders and they will (in turn) send one of the 'park rangers' to move on any offenders.

The only time to call the police would be if an actual anti social act is occuring - precisely what that entails is undefined.

...furthermore - having spoken to the council (Cityparks) - they have said that during office hours (9-5?) - we should contact cityparks (01273 292929 [option #4]) - and tell them. Out of office hours we should...

....contact the police. :S

Nice.

Ok. update - scratch that. Here's what to do;

During office hours (9-5 monday-fri) call the council - 797979 Ext4 and notify to parks dept of an offence

Out of hours, it's either 101 - and speak to the Non-Emergency line - who will send PCSO's out

... or the Rough Sleepers Team - which has already been notified - and are continually - notified by the PCSOs.

So despite it NOT being a police matter - it's only them (or the rough Sleeper Team) who can do anything about it most of the time.
