We have had a request that someone plants a memorial to a friend in the centre area of the square by the benches (east side) of some lavender bushes.

The person already has the permission from the council but would like the squares approval also,

"I have had a response from the council about planting in the Square and they have given me the go ahead. Which is great news!! We have decided on some lavender bushes of different varieties and will hope to plant between 3-5 of them. I came to have a look round last week and i noticed the there is lots of room in the middle section (to the left if facing the sea). I hope this is agreeable to you allThe date we are planning to do this is Sunday 19th of August, as my late friends and family from London will be in Brighton meeting his Brighton friends and family at Bedford Square for a BBQ and picnic. ".

We own a flat facing the sea at the bottom end of the Square. I think lavender bushes is a lovely idea, and have certainly no objection; I hope that they do well and that no-one disturbs or damages them.

I think this is a charming idea. Clearly the deceased loved the Square as much as we all do and this is a fitting memorial. It's good of the friend to consult us. I hope he has a good send-off.
