Council Action needed
Despite numerous attempts at getting the council to take action. I am now preparing a social media blitz for attention on the following items.

Dog Owners Question
Please comment on the following letter received.
I am a local person with a small dog, and am interested to know if there
has been interest from other dog owners ask the council to make the
square dog friendly (allowed in without problem)
It seems to me that throughout the year, day to day,the dog owners are by
far the most frequent users of the square, winter ,summer, rain or shine.
Obviously some objection is likely, always the problem of if people pick up
the poo. I have always picked up my dogs poo, and any oher dog poo that I
see. as well. I have also always avoided going in there when it's hot
weather and its busy .
Due to poor health, I often can't walk as far as the seafront, and I
wonder if there is any way I could walk my dog in bedford square without
incurring the might of the councils fury
sweets and things alcohol application
I'm writing because you are involved in communities near the site of Sweet N Things, 100B Western Road who are looking to get a new license to sell alcohol. Theirs was originally revoked around a year or so ago. It is in the Cumulative Impact Area for licensing.
If you feel inclined, please do object and have others do so writing to EHL Safety < This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it > quoting the reference number and business name in your objection.
Lion and Lobster complaints
I have previously written to you about Noise from the Lion and Lobster and how I did not think they were conforming with their licensing obligations. I recently had noise patrol round to witness the music level and the windows being open in the pub. It was confirmed that they were in breach of their licence and a warning was sent out. Music after 11pm was supposed to be at a background level (not nightclub) and all windows closed by 11pm to curtail noise to neighbouring properties. I also informed noise patrol that I did not think the pub was allowed permit entry after 12am which they had been doing. This was also confirmed and they have also been warned about this.
Sit outside your house day!
Dear Friends of Bedford Square,
My name is David Burke. I am writing on behalf of a Brighton-wide event called Zocalo, in which we ask people to sit outside their homes for an evening and talk to their neighbours. We have run the event for a number of years in Hanover, and last year took our first steps into Brunswick, Preston Circus and Whitehawk.
Bedford Square area crime figures
These are the figures that were requested. The area's involved are
between Kings Road, Western St, Silwood St and Oriental Place. Making a
crime circumfrence of these figures. This is why the ASB seems quite
high as it includes areas that have pubs and other ongoing issues
unrelated to Bedford Square within it.
Here are the figures from 01/06/2012 until 0800hours of 18/07/2012.
